The Cold Email

One detail I rarely mention: to apply for a special type of work visa back then, I needed my work published in major publications. I had no connections. So I put on a thick skin and sent a cold email to one of the most widely read architecture websites in the world.

Looking at that email now, eleven years later, it’s embarrassing. It’s naive and a little odd.

But it got my work published.

Sometimes all we need is a small impulse to take one step forward, especially when we have no other choice.
