The Roadblock Is Inside

As my newsletter kept growing and more students joined my courses, I faced a new set of challenges.

More pressure to meet students’ expectations. More messages, collaboration requests, DMs, and emails. More questions everywhere. And I still had to find time and energy to research, learn, build, write, and promote in a fast-moving field.

It taught me a lesson.

If you want to create bigger impact and help more people, whether that’s a thousand, ten thousand, or a million, there’s eventually a roadblock you have to face.

It isn’t tactics. Time management, efficiency, systems, marketing, and sales all matter, but they aren’t the core problem.

The real roadblock is inside.

It becomes important to reach a state of inner calm and certainty. In Chinese, I’d call it nei xin de ping he he du ding (内心的平和和笃定).

Calm means not letting short-term results control your emotions. It means staying present, enjoying each day, and not exhausting yourself by overthinking every gain and loss.

Certainty means knowing what you want, working toward a bigger vision, trusting yourself, staying focused, and being willing to sit through boredom and discomfort without being pulled around by other people’s opinions.

If your inner foundation isn’t strong and your purpose isn’t clear, it’s easy to get stuck chasing tactics and techniques.

If you want to keep growing, build a stable inner core. With it, growth becomes sustainable and real breakthroughs happen. Without it, you go in circles and burn out right before the next level.

I spent some time at the bottom of that valley. The good news is I came back with clarity and some valuable lessons.
