Minus the Medical Bill
I once made a few thousand dollars giving a talk.
But because of the effort and stress that went into it, I got sick and had to see a doctor. Then a medical bill arrived for almost a thousand dollars.
So when we make money, what we really make is what we earned minus the medical bill.
Salary, stock, and bonus, or profit (if you run a business), are only part of the equation. You also pay with your time, your stress, your health, and even the vacations you take just to recover.
If the cost of earning leaves you unwell, it may look like you’re making a lot of money. In reality, you’re losing it.
