Two Dollars an Hour

I spend about ten to twenty hours on every newsletter, and I publish almost every week.

At one point I did the math. I had earned a little over a thousand dollars on Substack. That worked out to almost two dollars an hour.

From a business perspective, it made no sense at all.

If I thought of those hours as time spent writing for money or for followers, it was incredibly inefficient.

But if I saw those hours as time spent following my curiosity and learning, they became much easier to justify.
