The Street Corner
One of the most embarrassing things I can imagine is standing on a street corner, greeting strangers, and introducing a product.
But the awkwardness I feel just imagining it reveals a part of me that’s afraid of being judged as a salesperson. And that’s exactly what I’d been missing in building my business.
So I started stepping outside my comfort zone. I took discovery calls. I introduced my services.
One thing I learned is to ask open-ended questions and stay curious about people’s motivations before imposing my own assumptions, which are sometimes surprisingly wrong.
I can learn so much by listening, asking, staying curious, and staying silent from time to time, instead of rushing to fill the blank space.
